This is a blog to explore the intuitions that inform our political and moral beliefs, and challenge the conventional wisdom that underlines mainstream political discourse.

Currently politics and policy in the UK is covered poorly; there is little nuance or rigour, and often policies are viewed through the narrow party political cliches we should be critiquing and revising.

This blog will provide an alternative commentary on the development of UK and Global politics and policy that is based not on party political dogmas and cliches, but on moral and political philosophy.

We need to raise awareness of the political importance of our moral intuitions within politics and policy. Too often are morals dismissed and perceived as naïve within mainstream political commentary – this needs to change. 

Finally, this should be coupled with exploring underdeveloped policy areas and issues; pressing issues and topics are often dismissed out of hand or not explored fully, in favour of covering political psychodramas.

If we continue down this trajectory, we will only continue to fuel policy that does not serve the interests of citizens.

In this sense, something needs to change
